You just need to get some human hair and sprinkle it around your garden borders on the outside. Once they get a sniff of the smell they will turn back and go away.

Another trick is to use smelly soap as animals usually repel from this. Im not sure why it works exactly but it does, so give it a try.

Sadly as far as insects there are only a few options. The most obvious would be to have the option of pest controls or rotating your crops. Of course you could grow your vegetable garden inside also. You can also try hanging soap on limbs to attract certain insects to it as well as repeling certain animals and insects from it.
